- Media Law including Editorial Law,
Advertising, Sales Promotion and Marketing Law, Competition Law,
Employment and HR Related Training
A number of courses
and seminars can be offered by the Society’s advisers,
including in house media law seminars. We also run annually an
Employment Law Seminar, Advertising Law Seminar and the
Newspaper Society/ Press Gazette Law For Journalists
Conference featuring leading legal experts in their
fields.
- Health and Safety
Courses
available include Risk Assessing, introducing Policies and Health
& Safety of newspaper deliverers.
- Other Training
A number of
courses are available from customer care to telesales and making
appointments by telephone.
Funding
The Newspaper Society has been successful on a number of
occasions in obtaining government funding for training initiatives
through which members have benefited and it continually seeks
opportunities to secure funding for particular projects.
THE NEWSPAPER QUALIFICATIONS COUNCIL
Representing the interests of the regional and local press in
respect of personal development, training and qualifications, the
aim of the Council is to consider and actively support training and
qualifications to the required high professional standards within
all sectors of the industry.
